Cacao rituals
A shared cup, a silence, attention given to the gesture.
A cup handed to someone, a moment kept for yourself,
a few minutes given to the preparation: a ritual can begin like this.
You give it its place and its rhythm, with the cacao you have chosen.
Sharing
Two cups,
the same gesture
You make a second cup, you set it down in front of someone. The scent stays between you, hands close around the warmth. A gesture of preparation becomes a moment you inhabit together.
Anchoring
What is passed on
In 2012, meeting the Shipibo-Conibo community of Nueva Betania, on the Ucayali, opened up our path. In Lanquín, our bond with Tuq'tuquilal has carried on since 2018. These encounters belong to places and to people we name.
Their traditions remain theirs. In your own home, a ritual can take a personal form: preparing with care, choosing the moment, leaving room for sharing.
Cacao nourishes more than the body, but we should not make it say just anything.Volume 1, MOOJO
